Class 1, 2 and 3 under EN ISO 20471 are defined by how much fluorescent and reflective material a garment carries. A vest cannot be Class 3 on its own, however bright it is.

EN ISO 20345 was revised in 2022 and added new codes. The most useful change is that puncture resistance now says what it was tested with, which changes what the boot actually protects against.

Issuing the highest SNR defender on the shelf feels like the safe choice. It is not — over-attenuation isolates a worker from alarms and speech, and the usual response is to take the defenders off.
